New legislation pushes companies to track implants

Posted on December 22nd, 2011 No Comments

After the recall of ASR XL Acetabular and ASR Hip Resurfacing System and problems with metal-on-metal implants was brought into light, lawmakers are pushing companies to keep track of their implants after they are sold.

The makers of the hip implant discussed earlier, DePuy, faced legal issues when their product began to fail and many people needed follow up surgeries to fix the hip implant that caused them pain and injury.

DePuy did not keep track of who had the defective hip implant, which is why Congress has discussed legislation that will push the Food and Drug Administration to require companies to keep track of their implants.

If you or a loved one has been injured by a DePuy hip replacement, you need experienced representation on your side that may be able to help you fight for the compensation you deserve. Contact the DePuy lawsuit attorney of Williams Hart today by calling 800-761-3187.
